Just watched this documentary the other night and loved it. In it, comedian Bill Maher explores some of the magic and madness behind the world’s main organised religions.

Maher playfully pokes fun at some of his interviewees and their beliefs but on the whole he does this with understanding and kindness, qualities often missing from exploration of religious values. He talks to some great people, including a mischevious and rebellious Catholic priest just outside the vatican.

Maher was raised Catholic, and is a recent enough convert to agnosticism. His main argument is that we shouldn’t suspend our intellects for the sake of religion, however comforting their ideas may be.

It's good to talk
